Grand Opening

Today we are very pleased to be able to announce the details for the opening concert of the Symphonic Middle East Festival 2022! It is our sincere pleasure to welcome multiple-times Grammy Award-winner Gil Shaham to perform live onstage with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by their Principal Conductor Maestro Sergey Smbatyan. For this grand opening to the event, audiences can look forward to not just one, but two concertos from Mr Shaham — beginning the concert first with Shor’s Seascapes, before next continuing with Tchaikovsky’s famous Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35. The concert will close with Elgar’s hugely popular Enigma Variations, concluding a concert that will bring together some of the most exciting performers in the world for a stunning programme of classical music.
