13th ClaviMasters International Piano Competition in Italy
The ClaviMasters International Piano Competition stands as a celebration of artistic excellence and global talent in the world of piano. Rooted in a distinguished legacy that began as part of the ClaviCologne International Piano Festival, the competition continues a tradition of inspiring and supporting outstanding young pianists from all around the world by offering them the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of some of the biggest names in the contemporary classical music world, with a variety of top prizes awaiting the most accomplished amongst their number .
First established in 2014 as part of ClaviCologne, in the German city of the same name, ClaviMasters quickly grew to become a respected international platform for pianists, hosting editions in major cultural centres around the globe. These have included Aachen, Germany, from 2015 to 2018, in collaboration with the Conservatory of Music and Dance Cologne/Aachen; as well as Hamburg, Germany in 2019, alongside the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg; Salzburg, Austria in 2022 and 2023, in cooperation the Mozarteum University Salzburg; and Pescara, Italy in 2024, in partnership with the ‘Luisa D'Annunzio’ State Conservatory of Music.
In 2025, the competition entered a new chapter when it was held under the umbrella of Accordi Musicali, a renowned international festival staged across Abruzzo, Puglia, and Tuscany. As part of the Accordi Musicali Academy, the festival’s educational branch, the contest returned to Pescara, at the ‘Luisa D'Annunzio’ State Conservatory, welcoming talented participants from around the world and offering significant prizes to its laureates.
Following this long and illustrious journey, the event now evolves once more as a standalone international competition, poised to begin its independent story in 2026. Over the coming years, ClaviMasters will continue to travel across major cultural cities worldwide, upholding the highest artistic standards while providing exceptional performance opportunities for emerging pianists on the global stage, thereby ensuring that the flame of our classical tradition shall not only continue to endure, but will flourish brighter than ever before for generations to come!
