5th Eurasian Stars International Piano Competition
Between the 25th and 28th of April 2023, the 5th edition of the Eurasian Stars International Piano Competition will be coming to the Kazakh capital of Astana, giving young pianists from all over the globe the chance to go head-to-head in a contest of skill and musical talent.
Taking place over two rounds, the competition features an eclectic choice of repertoire, including a piece by Composer-In-Residence Alexey Shor. The participants' performances will be judged by a five-person jury board that has been specially hand-picked to preside over this occasion, featuring some of the most respected and experienced pianists and pedagogues active today. These include among them Sara Assabayeva (Kazakhstan), Gulzhamilya Kadyrbekova (Kazakhstan), Nikita Mndoyants (France), Gülsin Onay (Turkey), and Valerian Shiukashvili (Georgia).
There will be a total prize fund of €18,000 awaiting the most accomplished pianists. In addition, this iteration of Eurasian Stars also forms part of the '14 Ways to Dubai' initiative, a large-scale international endeavor which consists of 14 preliminary piano competitions held in 14 different countries around the world. This means that the top-five-ranked Eurasian Stars participants will also win the right to participate in the 2024 Classic Piano International Competition, which will be held in Dubai as part of the acclaimed InClassica International Music Festival, with a further €250,000 worth of prizes to be shared among the award-winners there.
