Chieti Classica International Competitions 2023
This spring 2023, the historic Italian city of Chieti shall play host to the 2023 Chieti Classica International Competitions, which will see students of three different instruments come together from all around the world to put their musical skills and abilities to the test against their peers for a total prize fund of €10,000.
Held over two and a half weeks across July and August, the event will feature contests in the schools of piano, violin, and cello, each of which will be presided over by a prestigious jury board consisting of some of the most acclaimed names in the contemporary music world.
The cello competition will take place from the 20th to the 22nd of July, and will be judged by Alexander Chaushian (UK/Armenia), Melissa Phelps (UK), Gustav Rivinius (Germany), Florian Leonhard (Germany), and Julian Lloyd Webber (UK). This will be followed by the piano competition, which will start on the 1st of August and continue until the 3rd of the month, with Giuliano Mazzoccante (Italy), Gülsin Onay (Turkey), Epifanio Comis (Italy), and Milana Chernyavska on the jury panel.
Finally comes the violin competition, which will range from the 4th to the 6th of August, with participants’ performances in this contest set to be analysed and evaluated by Davide Alogna (Italy), Domenico Mason (Italy), Francesco Manara (Italy), Aiman Mussakhajayeva (Kazakhstan), and Dora Schwarzberg (Austria).
