Japan Grande Classico
CMDI is pleased to present Japan Grande Classico, a two-concert series in Tokyo that brings together some of Europe’s most accomplished young soloists with one of Japan’s foremost orchestras, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Held at the prestigious Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, these performances highlight CMDI’s continued commitment to fostering international artistic exchange and bringing the very best of classical music to all four corners of the globe.
On the 15th of December, violinist Marc Bouchkov (Belgium) and cellist Edgar Moreau (France) will appear as soloists in an evening with a programme containing Alexey Shor’s Duo Concerto for Violin and Cello, amongst other pieces. This performance will be conducted by Lionel Bringuier (France), a conductor known for his refined musical sensibility and extensive collaborations with leading orchestras worldwide.
The series continues on the 17th of December with a programme including Shor’s Violin Concerto No. 7, featuring German violinist Simon Zhu, one of the most exciting emerging virtuosos of his generation and prizewinner of the International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition. Under the direction of Bringuier, Zhu will bring his remarkable technical brilliance and interpretive maturity to Shor’s vivid and emotionally expressive score.
With Japan Grande Classico, CMDI strengthens its presence in East Asia while continuing to build cultural bridges between European and Japanese artistic communities. This short tour reflects CMDI’s dedication to presenting outstanding repertoire, nurturing top-tier talent, and creating high-level musical experiences that resonate with audiences worldwide.
