ModComFest 2026

Following a remarkable decade of growth and artistic exploration, the acclaimed ModComFest will return in September/October 2026 with its next edition, continuing the festival’s mission of celebrating the voices shaping contemporary classical music today. Since its debut in Malta in 2016, ModComFest has evolved into a major international platform dedicated to modern composers, with past editions honouring influential figures such as Joseph Vella, Krzysztof Penderecki, Georgs Pelēcis and Michel Petrossian, and expanding across multiple countries and artistic disciplines.

The 2026 edition will build on this rich legacy with a new focus on the work of a leading modern composer, whose music will serve as the artistic centrepiece of the festival. As with previous years, audiences can expect a programme that engages deeply with today’s most compelling musical voices, offering fresh perspectives on contemporary creativity while continuing ModComFest’s tradition of innovation, collaboration and cultural exchange.
