Mozart Evenings
In May-June 2025, Chieti marked the much-anticipated return of Mozart Evenings, a vibrant festival which has honoured the timeless genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Chieti and the Abruzzo region. Launched under the vision of its President, Konstantin Ishkhanov, and Artistic Director Giuliano Mazzoccante, the event has quickly reestablished itself as a beacon of classical music in southern Italy.
Set within the historic and picturesque Teatro Marrucino, the 2025 edition of Mozart Evenings featured five extraordinary concerts spanning 25 May to 4 June, bringing together a dazzling lineup of international soloists, conductors, and orchestras in a celebratory homage to one of the greatest composers in Western music.
This year's programme welcomed the AYSO Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, under the direction of acclaimed conductors Luis Andrade (Portugal), Alibek Kabdurakhmanov (Uzbekistan), Gianluca Marcianò (Italy), and Teresa Satalino (Italy).
The soloist roster featured a stellar array of internationally lauded artists, including pianists Cyprien Katsaris (Greece), Giuliano Mazzoccante (Italy), Julia Zilberquit (USA), and Arsenii Moon (France), violinists Davide Alogna (Italy), Karen Shahgaldyan (Armenia), and Anna Tifu (Italy), clarinetist Vicente Alberola (Spain), flautist Tommaso Benciolini (Italy), and violist Giuseppe Russo Rossi (Italy).
Through this remarkable gathering of artistic excellence, Mozart Evenings continued to fulfill its mission of making classical music accessible, inspiring, and enduring, while also celebrating Chieti’s rich musical heritage and revitalising its role as a cultural hub for the region.
