Tour of Yekwon Sunwoo and the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra

Heading into the closing months of 2023, CMDI will be organising an international tour for the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, who will be performing in seven different venues from the 23rd of November to the 3rd of December in collaboration with the acclaimed South Korean pianist Yekwon Sunwoo, the Gold medallist of the Fifteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and multiple First Prize Winner at numerous other international competitions.
Led by Dutch conductor Daniel Raiskin, the orchestra will open the tour with two concerts at the famous Reduta in the Slovak capital of Bratislava, which will be held on the 23rd and 24th of November. The tour will then move to South Korea, with a stop at the Seoquipo ArtCenter in South Korea’s Jeju Island on the 28th of November, before a concert at the Jeju Culture Center on the 29th of the month.
The 30th November will see the Slovak Philharmonic and Sunwoo stopping at the Incheon Joongu Art Center, Korea’s third-largest classical theatre, with the musicians following up on this by presenting a concert at the Chun-An Art Center on the 1st of December. The penultimate stop of this tour will take place at the Gang-Dong Art Center in the capital of Seoul on December 2nd, with the project then coming to an end on the 3rd of the month with an evening spent at the renowned Tongyeong Concert Hall in the coastal city of Tongyeong, widely hailed as the most spectacular concert hall in the entire nation.
Throughout this 11-day event, Raiskin and the ensemble, along with Sunwoo, shall be presenting audiences with an eclectic programme of works from a variety of seminal composers, showcasing the musicians’ ability to perform compositions from different eras and in a wide range of styles and genres.
